009 An ancient Cairn or tumulus on the farm of "Carnavel" to which it probably gave rise to the name, it is of a circular shape and about 78 feet in diameter and its centre about 14 feet in height No information can be gleaned in this locality respecting this cairn. but similar ones have been Opened in this and the adjoining parishes, and graves or stone coffins thereby exposed, containing human bones.
