A considerable hill on the farm of Meikle Ross, the soil of which is partly rocky pasture & partly arable land, its summit commands an extensive view of the surrounding Country. The Solway frith, the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man and the Mountain Ranges of Cumberland &c, also on its summit is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station Called by Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Party "______ " This hill is bounded on the North side by Balmangan Bay, on the East and South sides by the sea, and is approached on the west side by a narrow Isthmus
