Trace--Received Names-- Object--Description--Parish of Rerwick [Rerrick]--Authority for spelling Name--Address
10--Fort
Fort--Fort--This object was pointed out to me by the given authorities, & they both agree in calling it a Camp, or Fort, but which of the two it was, they could not say. It is situated on level ground, and consists of one raised circle of stones the base of which is a about 6 feet thick, and now greatly overgrown with grass etc., and is not more than 1 or 1 1/2 feet high in any place, the centre is level, and there is no appearance of a fosse or intrenchment, but seems to have been defended by the great rampart of stones, which formed its outer edge. I believe it to have been a Fort, similar to Suie Fort, and others which I have seen. It is upon the farm of Auchenfad.--[Rerrick]--James Craig
