John Nicholson Kirkcudbright		 050 A considerable river which takes its Rise partly in Lochs Dee & Doon, and partly in the Parish of Dalry besides several other minor feeders. It is known as the Ken Water and afterwards Loch Ken, till its junction with the Black water of Dee, nearly a mile above Parton Church flowing in a direction nearly Southward, it receives the Tarf Water near Tongueland Bridge, about 3 miles farther down it falls into Kirkcudbright Bay
