[Situation] 1/4 mile S by E [South by East] of the South end of Kipford or Scar
A large rock situated within tide mark on the sea shore of the farm of Mark. Its name originated from the circumstance of a chapman or Pedlar having gone on to the top of it during the ebbing of the tide, and stopping on it untill surrounded by the tide, he had for his own safety to remain there untill the next ebb.
