This is said by my authorities to be an ancient fort (and they suppose a British one). It is a circular object having a small circle of stones and earth surrounding it the circle is not raised higher than a foot is any part and the centre of the fort is the general surface and never was raised. consequently it cannot be called a Moat as has been written on trace no fosse or embankment was ever here save the stone circle. |
