GREY STONE | Grey Stone Grey Stone |
Robert Hastings James Sloan |
005 | [Situation] On the N.[North] Side of Carsphairn Village A large stone in one of the gardens belonging to the village, it is about 100 feet in solidity and was formerly much larger, It is fabulously reported by the people here, that the Devil had thrown it from Cairnsmore for the intention of demolishing the church but it seems he had failed in his attempt as the Stone fell about 5 chains short of the church.- |
