A small hollow or recess in a rock. situated on the Western Margin of the "Water of Deugh" about 10 chains North of Bridge-end. Its extent is such as to allow a man to Sit at ease in it, the origin of its name is from an eccentric character (whose Christian name was William) resorting it.
