020.15 It is traditionally reported that an Episcopalian, or Roman Catholic Chapel Stood here, and the field is yet known by the name of Chapel Field. The site is well known although all traces of the building are destroyed. There is no certainty about the date of the Building but it is generally supposed to have been very old.
"There were also two small [Episcopalian] Chapels about three or four miles distant from the village, to the east and west, of which one was within this parish. These were used for some time after the Laurencekirk Chapel was opened but it is now many years since they were taken down". (New Stat Act [Statistical Account])
