"The Kirkton of Fordoun can Scarcely
be called a village, for, beside the manse
and School-house, it can boast of only the
neat and rural Fordoun Inn, and two or
three additional Cottages." (New Stat Act.) [New Statistical Account].
This is the proper village of Fordoun in which are the Parish Church and
Manse, the Houses near the Railway Station to which the name of
Fordoun is now applied have been built since the Railway Station
was erected there.
