Court Stane Court Stane &c Contd [Continued] [continued from page 97] generally known as the "Court Stane". The Stone in question is a rough unhewn boulder, and stands about 9 feet above the ground which is here Slightly elevated, it is situated about a quarter of a mile east from the mains of Mondynes. "Duncan's Shade" is a tract of elevated ground sloping to the South. It is a continuation of the same slope as the "Brae of Mondynes", and the name applies to that portion of the slope which is situated immediately North of the Farm house of Mains of Mondynes. The name as written on the trace is near the centre of the ground which was pointed out as bearing the name of "Duncan's Shade".
