017.05 | On the Summit of Carmont Hill are the remains of what appears to have been a large Cairn. This Cairn was examined about 12 years ago and at the base level with the surface of the ground was found a Stone Cist measuring about 3 feet by 2 feet, and containing a Small urn, and black unctuous earth. Mr Clark states that the Cist was covered up, and left in the same state as it was found. |
