068 This is a small village, composed of houses, nearly all of which are one story high, and for the most part thatched, and only in middling condition. It is situated at the south western end of Loch Ness and where the Caledonian Canal enters that lock. It is said to contain 250 inhabitants, and is partly on the estate of Lord Lovat, and partly on the property of A. J. Fraser Esq. Of Glentarff House
