032 In the "Land of the Lindsays" the following appears in reference to this name & the Castle of Barnyards. "The nearest residents of Finhaven (a Castle in an adjoining Ph. [Parish]), were the Lindsays of the Haugh of Tannadice or Barnyards. The Castle of Barnzaird (as it is termed in Monipennies) stood within two miles, as the crow flies, of the Castle of Finhaven, & towards the close of the last century was represented by two archways in the Haugh, a little north west of the present farm house, which was built from its ruins." The Haugh is commonly called Barnyards from belonging to that farm and
