051 [Situation] In the northern portion of Monikie Ph. [Parish]
This Castle which is composed of a square Tower is still entire and consists of three stories each containing one apartment, which with a spiral staircase comprises the whole of the building, this staircase which is entered at the south east corner of the building, after attaining the height of the second story appartment, passes through it to the south west corner, and there continues to the roof of the Building, round which there is a battlement with a small Guard or watch house. The battlements as well as many portions of the Building are fast falling to decay. The first story apartment has a vaulted ceiling of enormous thickness. The second (through which you pass in ascending the building) has the ceiling removed but it has apparently been a flat stone one. The upper apartment has undoubtedly been the Chapel, as
