This "Cairn" which disappeared long ago, it is said, had been merely erected for the purpose of indicating the boundary of conterminous proprietors. It stood upon the western boundary of the parish and consisted of more than the usual number of stones, piled in the usual form, which, from time to time were all carted away for farming purposes
