032 A short distance northwest [of Sandyford] in an arable field is a grave stone lying flat on the surface of the ground, bearing the following inscription. "This is Jannet Bruce spouse to George Lowe Farmer Sandyford. She died in suspicious time of pest in 1646."
Mr. Dixon says that up to the end of the 17th. century, persons who died with plague were not allowed interment in Church yards in this part of Scotland.
