032 A small village about ¾ mile southeast of Kirriemuir. The property of the Earl of Strathmore. It formerly belonged to G. Meason Esqr. of Lindertis who named it Maryton in honour of one of his daughters. The names Maryton and Ellinorton were given by Mr. Mason the late Proprietor of Lindertis - but neither became in use - Padanaram is no more known as Ellinorton, than Balmuckety feus is as Maryton.
