New Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account]
038 A plain oblong built edifice erected in 1812 close to the site of the former parish church. The family Burial Tomb, belonging to Invereighty & Brigton occupies nearly the whole of the site of the old church
which was removed in 1812. "The old church & tower which
stood in the present Churchyard, & which were taken down
in 1812, exhibited strong presumptive evidence of their having been
erected in the 12th century. Yet no authentic account of the parish
"can be traced beyond the era of the Reformation"
