040 "The ancient name of this parish was Conghoillis, as appears from a Charter describing the lands of Boisack. The present name is Inverkeilor, from the Gaelic word Inver, implying the mouth of a stream, there being a rivulet named Keilor, which empties itself into the Sea, about a mile from the Village" Old Stat: [Statistical] Account.
The parish is bounded on the North by the parishes of Kinnell & Lunan; on the West by the parishes of Kirkden & Carmyllie;
on the South by the parish of St.Vigians; And on the East by the German Ocean.
The Lunan Water flows eastward through this parish, and falls into Lunan Bay in the N.E [North East] Corner of the parish. The Scottish North Eastern Railway (Arbroath Branch)
