043 An isolated hill feature in Denoon Glen having a circular base & of an oblong shape at the top which contains the remains of an ancient Fort. It is rocky & precipitous on the south & south west sides, & unlike the surrounding hills, which are clad with heather the other sides are remarkable for their fine verdant covering - a peculiarity which, doubtless gave name to the place, Since Dunoon in Gaelic, signifies "a green hill"
