038 An old thorn tree much decayed, it is enclosed by a circular stone wall and is held in great veneration by the inhabitants. Mr. Shepherd says that mention is made of it in Chamber's "Pictorial History of Scotland" as being one of the oldest and largest Thorns in the Country.
