034 This name is applied on the Estate Map to the stream, south of the dwelling on the edge of the moor, between the Dam by the moor dyke side and the dwelling. The house was formerly called "Hillhead of Fithie", which Lord Southesk has changed to "Strathella" in the Rental &c. and therefore the name is applied to it on the Examination Trace. The strath or hollow is of itself not in any way remarkable being merely the ordinary hollow through which the stream passes.
