034 An extensive wood on Rossie Estate the property of W. Macdonald Macdonald. A Reformatory School is situated on the South of it, & there is, near the Reformatory, a remarkable artificial hillock commonly called "Ginshot Hill" which more properly is "King's Seat", but the former is better known. Generally both names of the wood are referred to in naming it by the people. This is caused by the importance of the Farm names at the present time, Mountboy being the greater farm that name is always used; as "Kinnoul" is also given to the wood from being equally as old a name and about as near as Mountboy. The proprietor is of opinion that the names of both Kinnoul & Mountboy ought to be retained and when the writer of the New Statl. Acct. [Statistical Account]
