[situation] About 15 Chains W. by S. [West By South] from Union Club House.
A narrow foot Bridge over the Swilken Burn, which connects Pilmour and St. Andrews Links, Its appearance is Very Ancient and the inhabitants state it was erected in the 13th or 14th Century but as to the precise time they Cannot say.
[Note] The Revd. [Reverend] C.J. Lyon and Mr. Ireland Writer both residents in St. Andrews, say that there is a tradition current in the locality that this is the oldest bridge in Fifeshire.
