An inconsiderbale hill on which, until very recently, stood a large "Cairn", is situate abt. [about] 1/4 of a [Mile] N.W. [Northwest] of Carnbo Village.

On this spot stood a large Cairn supposed to have been made to point out the grave of some chief & it is said that every Occupier of land was bound to cart several loads of stones to it yearly however this cannot be remembered. abt. [about] 10 years ago the stones were mostly carried away to build the walls around the adjoining enclosures and few vestiges remain to mark the spot. the margin is visible on acct. [account] of of it being slightly raised of a circular form abt. [about] 30 Yds [Yards] in diameter, the grass abt [about] it is much greener & fragments of stones more numerous than in any other part of the hill
