The Master receives £9 yearly from Government together with what fees he can obtain from the [pupils] he is also allowed a free house and garden.

A considerable sized hill a short distance S.W. [South West] of the village of [Denhead] Its surface for the most part is very Rocky and in some places precipitous from which it has derived the name Craig. There is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] station on its summit.
