010; 017 [situation] In the North East of the County of Fife. A parish in Fifeshire, bounded on the south by the parishes of Collessie and Cults, on the east by Cupar, on the north by Cupar, Moonzie, Creich and Denbog, and on the west by Abdie and Collessie. It forms an irregular oval of which the extreme length is about 6 miles and the breadth about 5 miles. The number of acres under cultivation are about 3000, under pasture about 2000, and the different plantations contain about 500 acres. It has three villages, the largest of which is Letham of which see descriptive remarks in an adjoining name book. It is in the presbytery of Cupar and Synod of Fife, Patron the Earl of Leven.
