A large and well built house two storys high in good repair. it was built for and is used as a Town hall. it has a room where the meetings of the Town Council are held, also a cell or prison where Criminals are imprisoned for a night a Shreff's [Sheriffs] Court, is held in it once in every quarter chiefly for the recovery of small debts. it has recently been thoroughly repaired but there is no local knowledge of the date of its erection.
