This Inn derives its name, from its vicinity to a Peat Moss. It is a house of two stories with stabling. All the conveniences common to Country Inns are to be found here. Letters are received and delivered daily, but there is no letter box. The proprietor is Mr. James Paton, who is occupier.

They were built for the men employed at the Coalpits which were formerly wrought here. Now they occupied chiefly by farm laborers.
