A Small Village about a Mile North of Kettle, on the Ed. [Edinburgh] Perth & Dundee Railway - where the line branches off to Dundee & Perth. It is of recent erection, and on land feued from Edens Muir after its allotment. There is a P.H. [Public House] in the Village, but neither School nor Post Office. The Inhabitants are employed chiefly in Weaving linen.
