032 A long narrow dirty village on the N.W. coast of the Firth of Forth, the principal part of the houses have been built with out any regard to system or respect for health, the inhabitants are chiefly fishers, with a few handloomweavers; they are a most peculiar people and are said to be descendants of the crew of a ship from the Netherlands, which was stranded upon this bay in the reign of James 4.
