A small plain building erected in the year 1821 by the Baptists at a cost of £400 it has since been sold to a Sect called Campbellites - It is seated for about 300 persons, and contains 100 communicants, who have no regular Clergyman, but are governed lectured &c. by 6 Deacons and 3 Pastors who officiate in turn -

[Note - Kirkgate Chapel (Campbellites)] "The local name by which this sect is Known is the Campbellites. Their number here is about fifty or sixty and are dissenters from the Sect Known as Free Communion Baptists.
