[situation] South Side of St. Catherine Street.
A large rectangular building three stories high with small garden attached, situated on the South side of St. Catherine Street It was built at the expense of the County and is very spacious at the inside. It contains a County Hall, Sheriff and Magistrates Court rooms, with offices for the Sheriffs Clerk, the Fiscal of the Sheriff's Court the Commissary Clerk &c. as also an office for the Police.

The site of a Tolbooth which formerly stood in the Town of Cupar. It was a large stone building belonging to the Burgh of Cupar and was used by the Magistrates as a Town hall and Court and Council room Nothing of it now remains The present Town hall stands partly on its site
