The mansion, though in good repair and at present occupied is of high though unKnown antiquity. It is five storys high. the base of the outer walls are [8 feet] in thickness. It was formerly surrounded by a strong stone wall having two entrances, a bacK & front one, two small fragments of [these] remain each about 35 links across showing barely both the entrances arched overhead the remainder of it is not traceable nor cannot be pointed out. |
