A Parish in Haddingtonshire Consisting of several detached portions. The largest and most important part, Called the inland division, is bounded on the north by Prestonkirk and Dunbar; on the east by Spott, and on the west by Whittingham and Prestonkirk. The next largest portion lies 2 3/4 miles south of the former, being wholly Situated among the Lammermuir Hills. The other parts are moorland pendicles, Some of which were added to this parish on the distribution of Dunbar Common. (All this common is now portioned out to different parishes) Stenton is in the Presbytery of Dunbar and Synod of Lothian and Tweeddale.
