006 | [Situation] In the N. [North] West Corner of the Plan. East Linton is the principal Village in the parish of PrestonKirk. It is situated on the North bank of the River Tyne, about half-way between Haddington and Dunbar. It chiefly Consists of dwelling houses, a considerable number of Public houses, and Shops, a few flour and Corn mills, United Presbyterian and Free Churches. Also the parish and Free Church Schools and three private Schools one of which is for females exclusively. |
