009 An old Roman catholic chapel close by Seton house, the property of the Earl of Wemyss, by whom it was repaired about two years ago, and closed up by stone building the most of its windows. It enclosed the family tomb of the Earls of Winton, and received from them what was decorations and endowments they imagined would add to its Sacredness and utility. in the beginning of the reign of Robert III, Catharine, the Widow of Lord William Seton, built an Aisle on the South Side of it where she was afterwards burried, and also fonded a priest to Serve there perpetually. it was erected into a collegiate establishment, in 1493 by George Lord Seton; in 1544 the English invaders and the Earl of Hertford while destroying Seton Castle, spoiled the church took away the Bells and burned the timber work within it
