St Baldred's House
John Burn Schoolmaster Pit School
Mr. George Dale Farmer Auldhame
003 A ruin at Auldhame West of Seacliffe House, as to what it was there is no information can be Collected Concerning it. It however appears that there had been a Village here at the time when Auldhame was a Parish in itself Previous to the Reformation and Perhaps this may be the ruin of the Chapel however it appears to be a place of some note. The greater part of the walls of the building are still entire with other isolated portions of walls Convenient. how it got the name St. Baldred's House I could not ascertain for it is not Known that St. Baldred ever lived there immediately to the west of this was an old Burial ground but all traces of it have long since disappeared. as it got ploughed up from time to time
