It was Erected in 1770, and the interior renewed in 1819; it affords accommodation for 550 hearers, the Communicants are about 500. The Minister is the Revd [Reverend] Robert Balfour Graham who resides in the Manse - which was erected in 1824-25, it is pleasantly situated on a gentle elevation in the centre of the Glebe, and commands Very extensive views. The Glebe is Somewhat more than six acres of rich fertile land; the Stipend is 18 Chalders of Victual: 2 of wheat, 42 Bolls of Oats and the remainder, half meal half Barley, according to the highest fiars prices of the County; with £8.6.8 for Communion Elements. The Par. [Parish] Minister of North Berwick is also styled "Vicar of the Bass" for which he receives annually twelve solan Geese. |
