020 A small rugged glen through which a Steam runs, this Stream rises on the lands of Blairoch and falls into Benbuie Burn. This Cleugh derives its name from the Circumstance of Gold having been found in it at a former period.

CONRICK BURN: From near North Eastern Parish boundary running South West.
THE KNIPES: Knype - a hill; Dr [Doctor] Simpson, Sanquhar. Probably from Gothic Knap - the summit of a hill. About 6 1/4 miles N.W. by N. from Minnyhive.
GOLD CLEUGH: A little to the South of the Nipes.

I have just had a look at your previous page [20] and done some corrections for you.
Please remember to transcribe the handwritten information in the Header. [BUT the whole 'book' is Parish of Glencairn!]
This surveyor seems to enjoy throwing in capital letters in odd places but we must transcribe what we see.
