A large farm house two stories high, with offices all in good repair; there is a garden, and a large sheep farm attached. Tenanted by William Hogg, the property of the Duke of Bucleugh.
There is a vague tradition in the locality stating that Baramal Courts were held here in feudal times. Also that when Eskdalemuir belonged to the Priory of Melrose. all their tithes were collected at this house.
