020.16 ; 021.09 | A small stream, rising on Crosbie farm, and after flowing in an easterly direction, enters the Tweed, below Kelso. It is all in the district of the Merse, It rises in the Parish of Legerwood near Boon, and flows first Eastward, & then Southward, dividing the Parish of Earlstone from the parishes of Hume & Nenthorn. It then Suddenly debouches to the East, & flows through the parish of Nenthorn, & over a neck of Roxburghshire, intersecting in its course the parish of Ednam, & falls into the Tweed 3½ miles below Kelso. Its whole course is about 17 or 18 Miles. The lower part of the course is very beautiful, being through rich and finely wooded pastoral Scenery. |
