012.06 ; 012.10 ; This Moor is situated in the north of the Parish and is of considerable extent, lately a large portion has been taken into cultivation and the remainder affords pasture for sheep. It claims the name of Lamberton, which till the year 1650 was a separate Parish from that of Mordington. The name Lamberton doubtless was derived from a Saxon called Lambert, who here settling with his followers gave rise to the tun or village (See History of Coldingham P. [Page] 144) In the centre of this moor and on very uneven ground is a Race Course which at one time was very much used, but no Races have been carried on for the last 3 years.
