It is Mentioned in the Statistical Account - Page 238 - "In 1792, when Removing a large Cairn from the top of Crumstane Hill, Several earthen stones of various Sizes Were discovered". The hill is Supposed to have derived the Name (Crimson Hill) from the Nature and description of the Soil, it being of a Reddish Color. -- |
