022.06 This place is named from a fatal circumstance that happened many years ago A travelling Piper after getting intoxicated at Sisterpath (then a Public House) obstinately determined to proceed on his journey during a heavy Snow Storm, although warned and advised by the people to desist, he lost his way and his Corpse was found Some weeks afterwards on the clearing away of the Snow, the Body was interred on the Spot where it was found, which has Since been called the Piper's Brae
