016 ; 022 A small Stream rising in the parish of Greenlaw, which forms for nearly three miles the boundary of Fogo parish and separates it from the adjoining parishes of Greenlaw towards the West and Polwarth towards the N.W. [North West] It continues its North Easterly Course until it empties itself into the Blackadder at Mouthbridge near Kimmerghame in Edrom parish.–

022.05 A declivity of considerable height and with the Howe Burn at its base extends for about a quarter of a mile from E. [East] to W. [West] a short distance north of Chesters farm. Owing to the abruptness of its slope, it has never been cultivated but produces excellent pasture in the western extremity are the remains of a Roman Camp, from which this Brae receives its name. –
