055.08 | A small raised mound of a circular form with gently sloping sides, situated close to the north west angle of Straloch garden. "Supposed to be built by the Cheyne's' of Straloch" Extract from Collections on the Shires of Aberdeen and Banff - No other information can be gained respecting it. When the present road which passes it on the north was bieng made, a great number of human bones were dug up, proving the previous existence of a graveyard, and the Revd [Reverend] John Keith, minister of Keith Hall parish, remembers seeing two tombstones there upwards of sixty years ago. |
