025.09 The place where Malcolm II Gained a complete victory over the Danes in 1010. The whole of the battle field having been Cultivated a long time ago there are left no existing remains that generaly marks the site of such conflicts - the only antiquity remaining is a sculptured stone said to have been erected to commemorate the victory gained by Malcolm.
"In the year 1010, Malcolm II. obtained, in this parish, that signal victory over the Danes, which has ever since given the place a superior degree of fame, and makes it respected as classic ground. *** Malcolm had been beat the year before by the Danes,and was oblidged to leave them in possession of the lands of Moray.
