046 A high mountain on the south-west confines of the county, and separating it from the county of Aberdeen. It forms the highest point of the Cairngorm Mountains, its height being 4296 feet above sea level.
"One of the Cairngorm group of mountains in the S.W. [South West] corner of Aberdeenshire, estimated by Jamieson at 4300 feet in altitude; by Mr H. C.Watson at 4362 feet; and by others at 4390 feet" Fullarton's Gazetteer.
